Driven by our commitment to the future of sustainable maritime energy, Kalymnos Fuel Engineering has successfully completed a high-level technical and business mission to Sweden. Our primary objective was to study global best practices firsthand in the field of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG Bunkering).

During our mission, we visited the landmark Gasum LNG terminal in Nynäshamn, located just outside Stockholm. Operating since 2011 as Sweden’s very first facility of its kind, and having opened its doors to third-party access in 2021, the terminal serves as the ideal benchmark blueprint for upcoming infrastructure developments in Greece.

The visit provided our team with the invaluable opportunity to see these advanced systems in action, focusing specifically on the specialized Cryogenic Couplings developed by MannTek (Mann Teknik AB)—the global market leader in safety equipment designed for transferring LNG under extreme cryogenic temperatures (−162∘C).
